Annual or Single Trip Travel Insurance?
Is it better for you to take out annual travel insurance or buy a single trip policy each time you travel? It’s a debate many holidaymakers have every year. Which is more economical, and which is best?
Ask yourself a few questions before you decide on an annual or single trip policy. First work out how many times you will be going on vacation or business trips in the coming year. Then calculate this against the cheapest travel insurance quote you can find for each individual trip, and the cheapest annual travel insurance policy.
For example, if you are planning on travelling two or more times outside the country, and perhaps taking one business trip, you may be better off with annual travel insurance. H
Teen Drivers Play the Blame Game
A recent report highlighted teen drivers’ critical errors that are often one of the last in a chain of events leading up to a crash. Seventy-five percent of these crashes were due a critical teen driver error, with three common errors— lack of scanning to detect and respond to hazards, going too fast for road conditions and being distracted by something inside or outside the vehicle—accounting for nearly half of all serious crashes.

RAC: illegal faults on fleet vehicles soar
The number of fleet vehicles being driven with illegal faults (such as defective lights and tyres) has more than doubled in a year, according to estimates from RAC.
The Aviva subsidiary points out that aside from breaking the law regarding vehicle roadworthiness, negligence over faults increases the risk of companies being charged with corporate manslaughter.
In the first quarter of 2011, RAC fleet checks failed 36% of vehicles for tyre maintenance and 20% for faulty lights, with the failure rates up two-fold and four-fold respectively on the same period of 2010.
Furthermore, 37% of vehicles checked failed their inspection for under the bonnet fluid levels, an increase of 26% on last year.
How To Save Money On Full Coverage Insurance
Do you have a full coverage car insurance policy? Do you want full coverage car insurance or are you just getting it because you are under a loan and that is what they are requiring you to do? The reason why I ask this is because most people are forced to get full coverage car insurance just to satisfy the lender and that is not a bad thing as long as you know how to save money in the meantime.
What most people don’t realize is that you have to make it known that you know what you are doing and you know what you are talking about or else you will have a very hard time getting any car insurance agent to give you what you want for less. W Read more…
Travel Insurance Tricks and Traps: How To Avoid Them
Buying travel insurance is an easy thing to do. However, not all travel medical insurance policies will be right for you. Some may be uneconomical or provide you with low-quality coverage. What should you look for when buying travel insurance? What traps should you avoid?
If you have a pre-existing medical condition you should check to make sure you are covered for medical issues concerning this condition when you travel. Check that your insurer doesn’t have a set of exclusions that make almost any claim impossible – only choose a respected and established insurance company that doesn’t make you jump through hoops to be considered for a claim.
Make sure your travel insurance covers essentials like baggage, travel money and delayed flights. Some
Trust and Technology Contribute to Agent Satisfaction
Agents are happier with their agents lately. According to a recent agent survey, 54% of the 515 U.S. independent insurance agents surveyed trust their carriers “most of the time” and 23% trust their carriers “completely.” And, much of this trust can be a result of the increase in the use of agency-company interface technology, notes IVANS, a provider of insurance agent technology.

“Establishing and maintaining trust requires efficient and accessible communication between carriers and agents, and these findings are reflective of the value agents place on being able to communicate easily with their carriers,” says Clare DeNicola, president and chief executive officer of IVANS Inc. “
ABI calls for end to UK’s “pain in the neck” culture
The Association of British Insurers (ABI) is calling for a clampdown on the “pain in the neck” culture which it says has made the UK the whiplash capital of Europe.
With one in every 140 people claiming whiplash injuries a year, the ABI highlights the need for action as follows:
Nearly 1,200 whiplash claims are made every day in the UK; six times more than the number of people who claim for workplace-related injury every year.
The cost to the NHS of treating whiplash is estimated at £8 million a year.
Three-quarters of personal injury claims in the UK are for whiplash, more than elsewhere in Europe.
Insurers pay out nearly £2 billion a year in claims for whiplash.
